Subway Troubles

Twice today I got completely owned by the subway. I really need to pay more attention to my surroundings. The first time I was trying to take the JZ train uptown from the Financial District. I was on the right platform, but wasn't sure it was the right one, so I went downstairs to a different platform in search of a map. There I discovered I had been on the right platform, so I went back up, but this time I took an elevator. I ended up on the other platform without realizing it, and a train was just arriving. In my rush to catch it, I didn't realize it was going the wrong direction.

The second time was a lot worse. I don't know how I failed to realize that I was on the wrong NQR platform at Canal Street, but the next stop was deep in Brooklyn. It took 10 minutes to get there, and 10 minutes to get back. Oh well. At least I got some nice photos of the river!

Brooklyn
vs Manhattan.

It was also an oppressively hot day. After all these shenanigans, I decided to buy a large bottle of fresh-squeezed orange juice while waiting for my eczema prescriptions at the pharmacy. It was the most delicious drink I've ever had.

Yum.
